My NXNEi schedule
I’ll be attending the North By Northeast Interactive conference later this week and I have FINALLY finished putting together my schedule. It’s not quite as nerdy as my FITC schedule and there are no bike-centric presentations BUT there is an EpicMealTime one, so I’ll take it! And there’s valet bike parking? Yeah, this’ll do nicely. Or should I say Thistle Dew Nicely? (yup, that’s ACTUALLY the name of the flower shop in my hometown -_-)
Now… when’s Jack White going to announce his secret show?

9:30-10:30 (A) - Community managers: Defending your brand and creating your audience
10:45-11:45 (B) - Strategies for pitching new clients
12:00-1:00 (B) - How to win at YouTube. With the dudes from EpicMealTime. Pretty excited for this one, not gonna lie.
2:00-3:00 (A/B/C) - Punk: A not so unbiased take on how it shaped all modern music. Damian Abraham is presenting this one and I picked it cause I feel like I have to do at least one music-related thing during NXNE!
3:15-4:15 (B) - Living in the map: Adventures in making Detroit a user-friendly city
4:30-5:30 (A) - Using data to leverage video as a more effective marketing tool

10:45-11:45 (A) - Making social giveaways win-win for brands and fans
12:00-1:00 (A) - What makes an idea stick?
2:00-3:00 (A/B/C) - My anti is bigger than your censorship: Combating internet censorship through art and satire
3:15-4:15 (A) - Beyond media queries: Responsive design and cross-device thinking
4:30-5:30 (C) - The art of mobile photography
AFTERPARTY

9:30-10:30 (A) - What’s your employer brand?: How to attract and retain sought-after digital talent. This one’s with longtime twitter bud @fuzzz and a few others. Excited to see Andre speak!
10:45-11:45 (C) - Digital workforce: Employee engagement and corporate culture
12:00-1:00 (B) - When the internet met copyright: The story of the Canadian copyright
2:00-3:00 (A/B/C) - This dude abides: A conversation with Rob Heydon on ecstasy-inducing independent films
3:15-4:15 (B) - ANTHROPOCENE: The age of humans. I don’t know how this is relevant, but it looks pretty freaking fascinating so I think I have to go to it.
I still love the FITC bike image.
Other things I have going on this week: Sysomos/Radian6 event, Metric show, tattoo touchups, Kathleen Edwards show, Beams show, Flaming Lips at Dundas Square and Maritime buds Oh No, Theodore are in town for a show on Friday!
